How do i jailbreak my 2nd gen ipod touch?

I want to jailbreak my 2nd gen ipod touch and all the ones on youtube and google are not working. I have a mac and my software version for my ipod is 2.2.1

I know I’ll probably get thumbs down for this, but what is “jailbreaking” and iPod? I’ve heard that alot.
